Mother’s Day History

The history of Mother’s day is set back in the decade of 1900. It was initiated by a woman called Anna Jarvis, she began a campaign that a particular day should be reserved for the sacrifice of mothers. Their eternal love should be celebrated by allowing it a mark in the calendar. In 1905, her mother died and she then initiated a campaign to make a separate day for mothers, for their love. After some years, in 1914, her efforts gained recognition and space for mother’s day in the calendar was remarked by President Woodrow Wilson. The President declared openly that the second Sunday of May month shall be celebrated as Mother’s day. This day will remark the efforts and sacrifices made by mothers for the family and their children. Mothers bear all the scapegoats in order to protect their children and that is why their selfless and timeless love deserves attention. Mother’s should be respected more than anything in this world and this day is primarily for them.
